Audio comments

Audio comments let you dictate your observations instead of typing them. This is especially handy on site when your hands are busy or when a written description would be too long.

  1. Open an annotation.
  2. In the audio section, tap the microphone button.
  3. Speak to describe your observation. A timer shows the elapsed time.
  4. Tap Stop to finish recording.

Tap the play button next to an audio comment. You can:

  • Pause and resume playback.
  • Scrub through the recording by tapping the progress bar.
  • See the total duration and elapsed time.

To replace an audio comment, swipe left on the comment to delete it, then record a new one.

Your audio comments are now included in all three export formats:

  • HTML — Every audio comment is embedded inline with an HTML5 <audio> player. Your recipient can listen to it straight from their browser.
  • PDF — Audio comments are listed under each annotation with an “Audio comment” label and their duration. The PDF format doesn’t support inline playback; to let recipients listen, share the HTML or ZIP report alongside the PDF.
  • ZIP — The archive includes the raw .m4a files next to the HTML, ready to play in any audio player.
