iCloud and local backup
How your data is stored depends on the type of project and your subscription.
Local projects
Section titled “Local projects”Local projects are stored only on your device, in the app’s local storage. This applies to:
- All projects created in guest mode (without an account).
- Local projects created with an account, including Pro or Teams subscribers.
This means:
- If you uninstall the app, these projects are lost.
- If you switch devices, these projects are not transferred.
- Your iPhone’s iCloud backup may include app data, but this depends on your iCloud settings and is not guaranteed.
Cloud projects
Section titled “Cloud projects”Cloud projects are synced to the cloud (Google Cloud servers, hosted in the European Union). This means:
- Your data is backed up automatically online.
- You can access these projects on any device signed in to the same account.
- If you reinstall the app or switch devices, your cloud projects are re-downloaded automatically.
Cloud projects are also stored locally on your device for offline use. Sync happens automatically whenever you’re connected to the internet.
Convert a local project to cloud
Section titled “Convert a local project to cloud”When you sign in with a Pro or Teams subscription, you can convert a local project into a cloud project. The project is then uploaded to the cloud and becomes accessible on all your devices.
Recommended backup
Section titled “Recommended backup”Regardless of how you use the app, we recommend regularly exporting your reports as PDF or ZIP. An export is a standalone copy of your work, independent of the app.
