Import a plan

From a PDF file

1. Open a project and tap the + button to add a plan.
2. Choose Choose a plan from the menu.
3. The file picker opens. Navigate to your PDF file and select it.
4. The plan appears in the project’s plan list.

Tip

PhotoReport is optimized to work with very high-definition PDF plans. No need to compress or shrink your files: the app stays smooth and responsive regardless of file size.

From a photo

1. Open a project and tap the + button.
2. Choose Take a photo or Choose an image from the menu.
3. Take a photo of a plan posted on site, or select an existing image from your photo library.
4. The image is imported as a plan.

Real-world example

You arrive on a job site for a first visit and haven’t received the architect’s PDF plans yet. Take a photo of the fire escape plan in the hallway or the site plan posted in the site office. Start placing your annotations directly on the photo. When you receive the official PDF, use Replace a plan to swap it in — your annotations will be preserved and repositioned.

Architectural formats (DWG, DXF…)

PhotoReport accepts PDF files and images. If your plans are in a CAD format (AutoCAD DWG, DXF, Revit, ArchiCAD…), convert them to PDF first from your drawing software, then import the PDF into PhotoReport.

Tips

• Give each plan a clear name after import (e.g., “Ground floor”, “Floor 1”, “Roof”) to identify them easily.
• If you import multiple files with the same name, the app automatically renames them to avoid duplicates.
