Replace a plan
The replace feature lets you update a plan’s file (for example, switching from a photo to a real PDF) without losing the annotations you’ve already placed.
When to use this
Section titled “When to use this”- You started with a photo of a site plan and now have the official PDF.
- The plan has been updated by the architect and you need the new version.
- You imported the wrong version of a plan.
How to replace a plan
Section titled “How to replace a plan”- Open the plan you want to replace.
- Tap the plan’s settings icon.
- Choose Replace plan.
- Select the new PDF file or image.
- A preview screen appears: you see the new plan with your annotations repositioned on it. Check that the result looks correct before confirming.
- During the preview, you can adjust the annotation size if needed.
- Confirm the replacement.
How annotations are repositioned
Section titled “How annotations are repositioned”When replacing, annotations are resized and repositioned proportionally to the new file’s dimensions. For example, if the new plan is larger, annotations spread out proportionally to maintain their relative positions.
If the automatic repositioning isn’t perfect (for example if the plan’s framing has changed), you can manually move each annotation after the replacement by pressing and holding it, then dragging it to the correct position.
What is kept
Section titled “What is kept”- All annotations and their positions (repositioned proportionally).
- The photos, videos and audio comments attached to those annotations.
- The numbering of annotations.
