Inspector on site, final report at the office

This scenario describes the typical workflow of a technical inspector or surveyor who carries out regular site visits and needs to produce a report after each one.

  1. Create a project for the site (or open an existing one for a follow-up visit).
  2. Import the plans — PDFs from the engineering firm, or a photo of the site plan from the first visit.
  3. If it’s a follow-up, review annotations from previous visits to prepare the points to check.
  1. Open the project on iPhone and switch to Visit mode.
  2. Walk the site methodically: for each observation, tap the plan, orient the arrow and take the photo.
  3. Use audio comments to dictate detailed remarks without stopping to type.
  4. For visual defects, use the draw on photo tool to circle or arrow the issue.
  5. For observations not tied to a plan (general condition, cleanliness, safety), use general observations.
  1. Back at the office, open the web dashboard to review observations on a large screen.
  2. Check that nothing was missed by browsing the plans in the web viewer.
  3. Export the PDF report from the iOS app — the report automatically includes the company profile (logo, name, address) if configured.
  4. Share the report online with the client via a password-protected link, or send it as an email attachment.
  • Efficiency on site — Documenting a visit takes less time than with a notebook or spreadsheet. Audio replaces writing.
  • Automatic professional report — The report is generated in one click, with annotated plans, photos and comments. No layout work needed.
  • Tracking over time — Successive visits are documented in the same project, letting you compare site status from one visit to the next using date filters.
