Import a plan

A plan is the reference document on which you place your annotations. On the dashboard you import as many as you need, by drag and drop.

  1. In the project, click Add a plan.
  2. Drag your PDF files into the area provided, or click Browse files.
  3. Check the summary, then click Import.

You can drop several files at once. Each shows its progress: preparing, queued, uploading, finalising.

This is the point that surprises people most often. A plan always corresponds to a single page.

When you import a multi-page PDF, PhotoReport splits it automatically: an 8-page PDF becomes 8 separate plans, in document order. The confirmation screen tells you before the import starts, for example:

This PDF contains 8 pages. It will be added as 8 separate plans, one per page. You can rename or reorder them afterwards.

If you drop several files and some have multiple pages, the summary details the total: how many files go in, how many plans come out.

This is the same behaviour as on iPhone, iPad and Android.

The drop area only accepts PDFs. To start from an image, for example a photo of a paper plan pinned up on site, use Plan from a photo and choose an image file.

The plan is created under the name “Photo plan”, which you can rename right away.

From the project’s plans grid:

  • Rename: open the plan’s menu and choose Rename.
  • Reorder: grab the drag handle and move the plan. The order is the one your reports will use.
  • Delete: the plan is deleted permanently after 30 days.
