Import a plan

  1. Open a project and tap the + button to add a plan.
  2. Choose Choose a plan from the menu.
  3. The file picker opens. Navigate to your PDF file and select it.
  4. The plan appears in the project’s plan list.

A PDF holding several pages is split on import: every page becomes a plan of its own, in document order. PhotoReport tells you how many plans it is about to create before the import starts.

A PDF that cannot be opened, or that is password-protected, is refused with the reason shown rather than creating an empty plan.

  1. Open a project and tap the + button.
  2. Choose Photograph a plan or Choose a photo of a plan from the menu.
  3. Take a photo of a plan posted on site, or select an existing image from your photo library.
  4. The image is imported as a plan.

Each plan has a ⋯ button, on its card and on its row in the project sidebar, with Rename and Delete (the card also offers Open). Pressing and holding the card opens the same menu. With the plan open, press and hold the drawing to reach the same Rename and Delete, next to the plan’s own settings.

Deleting asks for confirmation and tells you what goes with the plan (its viewpoints, photos and audio notes). Changed your mind? Tap Undo in the bar that shows for 8 seconds, or restore the plan within 7 days from Project settings > Recently deleted. See Recently deleted.

PhotoReport accepts PDF files and images. If your plans are in a CAD format (AutoCAD DWG, DXF, Revit, ArchiCAD…), convert them to PDF first from your drawing software, then import the PDF into PhotoReport.

  • Give each plan a clear name after import (e.g., “Ground floor”, “Floor 1”, “Roof”) to identify them easily.
  • If you import multiple files with the same name, the app automatically renames them to avoid duplicates.
